Yes — the plugin connects to the AI provider of your choice using your own API key. You're never locked into our pricing for AI usage. If you'd prefer zero AI costs, the free Copy Title and Copy Filename methods require no API key and work instantly with no additional account needed.

Yes. The plugin shows all your existing images — with or without alt text — in a sortable, filterable table. You can process your entire existing library in one click using One-Shot Bulk, or select specific images and apply individually.

Install Image Alt Text Pro, go to the Without Alt Text tab, and click One-Shot Bulk. Choose your method — AI generation or free Copy Title/Filename — and the plugin processes your entire library automatically with a live progress bar. Keep the browser tab open while it runs. For future uploads, enable Auto-Add on Upload in Settings and every new image is handled automatically.

Your alt text stays — permanently. All alt text is saved directly to WordPress image metadata. It belongs to you regardless of your plan. Cancelling Pro only removes access to Pro features going forward, not any data you've already generated.
